“Attending classes here was a rather fresh experience! I was actually apprehensive about joining at first because I was afraid that I would not be able to hold a candle to other students in class. Everyone else seemed much more eloquent when speaking and writing. But, all my uncertainties subsided after I realised that I was able to learn from others' work. Classes are such a safe place for me as well to receive feedback to work on my paragraphs further! We are all also provided with pretty sets of notes each lesson with loads of sample essays and examples. Last but not least, gotta save the best for the last am I right! “GP for two hours over zoom. Yawn. Paying for a class I might sleep away in? Double yawn. That was the first thing that entered my mind when I first stumbled upon Classicle. But that couldn't be further away from the truth. The first step was entering an Open class to get a real feel of it. It was unfathomable how engaging and productive the sessions were. Upon signing up for regular sessions, it lived up to the expectations and went even beyond. Which tuition promises feedback after 1-2 days upon submitting essays outside of class? It has been three months since I last attended a class at Classicle Club. As a foreign scholar studying in a local junior college, I was determined to excel in my new surroundings. However, as someone who is more interested in STEM subjects, I found the subject of General Paper to be quite challenging and intimidating. I came across Classicle Club during a conversation with a classmate in my extracurricular activity group (he described it as a "tuition center specializing in General Paper"). After my first class, I was intrigued by the teaching model. Instead of asking us to memorize new vocabulary or essay structures, we were asked to analyze a case study and interpret it in terms of "right" or "wrong". I found myself enjoying the process because the classroom environment encouraged critical thinking and deep analysis. My way of thinking was consistently challenged in every class.
Not only did I improve my grades by three levels to an A, but I also began to realize something more profound - that the world is not solely centered around my desires or beliefs. As an individual, I am a part of a larger fabric of society and I have the power to make a lasting, positive impact.

“When I first joined the classes I felt anxious when told to write a paragraph that would be gone through on the spot. But after a while, I started to enjoy and even look forward to writing as I could feel myself improving. I also look forward to feedback because I know it will be very effective :)) I also love reading essays! When my school used to give essays, it would be SOOOO boring to go through them, but I've realised the beauty of finding interesting examples, especially when they can be relatable and easy to understand >< Plus the NOTES have the BEST FONTS AND DESIGN, it’s like looking at a magazine! I use the notes all the time when I'm doing new GP essays and AQs. PS, I love how nice and sweet the admin team is. The ballroom open class was definitely my favourite as it was new and refreshing.”

“I was initially hesitant about participating in GP classes via Zoom because of my negative associations with self-study. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how engaging and productive the Zoom classes were. This was due to the well-planned and structured classes with high-quality materials. I also didn't expect to receive such a nicely presented package - the aesthetic design and fonts made learning GP much more enjoyable. In addition, I've had great interactions with the admin and my tutor, and I've even made some new friends. My tutor is especially kind and we have enjoyable conversations about a wide range of topics.”

“At first, I was unsure if I should sign up. A part of me thought that I could improve by going on more frequent consults with my teacher. But then I realised that my teacher would not have so much free time to mark my essays as quickly or give out model essays or paragraphs to me as it would seem very exclusive to her other students.
I don't turn in much work, but I'll try to write more in the last couple of weeks. I really appreciate how fast the tutors mark our work and give us solid feedback and also the WAYS to improve, instead of leaving us to fend for ourselves. The admin team is also very helpful, considerate, and gracious even if I book my lessons wrongly:") I enjoyed reading the admin's messages too! I could tell they are very dedicated to their work :)”

“I was surprised that I the paper 2 SAQ classes stood out most! I have no idea how you guys make SAQ so much less painful to do, I remember the first few SAQ lessons were a little boring and hard, but eventually SAQs weren't as dreaded anymore
also, I enjoyed speaking up in class! Exchanging perspectives is fun but I'm not someone who dares to speak in front of people. But my tutor has given me the opportunity to speak frequently which made me learn much better. Nowadays I look forward to being called on (most of the time). I enjoyed talking to my tutor a lot as she is a very comforting and understanding teacher :)). She is kind and puts in a lot of work to deliver us good classes which I appreciate. My favourite memory would be my first class as I found myself enjoying the lesson while I was in the flow of writing!! & the content omg I still remember the content I learn in the first few classes I had which were MONTHS ago, they stuck with me so well”— J2, HCI
“Definitely pushed my frame of thought to a higher level, helping me come up with relevant arguments. Being exposed to elegant writing styles also gave me more inspiration to develop my personal voice. Most helpful is definitely the content that disseminated and its variety, giving us the opportunity to choose whichever appeals to us. Also love the huge vocabulary list I have acquired from hearing my tutor speak in class
At first, I was hesitant as to whether it was worth my time and money... because I signed up quite late and so it was a gamble for me in a desperate search for a way to improve and hone my GP skills. My tutor gave me a good picture of how her class goes as well as how she conducted her class. One of my greatest concerns was whether the class would be too hard for me because of the standards that my tutor holds herself up to. But that only pushes me to become better teehee :>. I love the writing activities! And the fast marking speed; sometimes I write with doubts in my head and when my tutor marks the essay, I feel at ease, my doubts put to rest”
